Carbon Leaf is a National touring band out of Richmond, VA that made waves in the early 2000s by winning the first “Best Unsigned Band” American Music Award.  I am definitely not their first drummer as you’ll be able to tell by the many missing albums from my spotify playlist.  That’s ok.  This is my full time gig, and I love these guys so much.  What sets them apart is their moral compass.  They do things the right way, and they do it all the time.  Seeing the stark changes in the music industry over the course of a career had tremendous negative effects on countless bands, but Carbon Leaf remained, and built a fanbase across the country that feels more like family than anything.  Enjoy these songs, even all the ones I didn’t play on 😎.

I have known Dan Mills for the majority of my life.  I believe he is the only person I still talk to that went to the same elementary, middle, and high schools with me.  We are affectionately known as “Wizard, Cobra, Falcons”.  An extremely rare breed.  I have played with Dan since we were kids, and there’s no other way to say it than, I just love it so much.  Dan’s music is thoughtful, and dense with emotion.  He’s one of the most talented songwriters out there today, and I love every song on this playlist. 

Love in Stockholm was a Boston based band from 2009 to 2014.  The band released a debut EP in 2009, and two full length albums in 2010, and 2013.  The band reunited during the Covid-19 pandemic to remotely record “Open Road”, which was their 1st release after a 7 year hiatus.  I am extremely proud of the work I did with this band, and they will be my brothers for life. 

Playing with Stephen Kellogg was my first foray into “big boy” touring.  I was able to tour the country,  Play for the troops in the Middle East, and play for the folks across the pond in the UK, and Ireland.  Stephen’s writing and discography stretches far and wide from his own records, to many other artists.  I am so happy to have had the opportunity to play with Stephen in his band for a few years, and to have contributed to his body of work.

My very first single. With the exception of the keys (played by the great Ty Bailey), I produced, played, recorded, and mixed this entire track from my home studio. It was a long process, that happened in the middle of house hunting, and a move, but we made it happen. It was so much fun to do, and I look forward to the next one.
